Capturing Life's Fleeting Moments
One of the last videos I have with my Dad was him looking at the beach.

There was one thing I wish I did as I revisited this - I wish I took a more decent picture of him.
This, coupled with missing so many friends and family during the pandemic, made me want to take more pictures.
Photography has become more than just a hobby for me; it's a way to capture and cherish life's fleeting moments. Here are five compelling reasons why taking more pictures has enriched my life:
- Memory Preservation: Each photograph serves as a tangible reminder of precious moments. By capturing these instances, I can preserve memories and emotions that might otherwise fade with time.
- The Thrill of the Hunt: Photography is like a treasure hunt. Each shot is unique, and the challenge of finding the perfect moment to capture adds excitement. It's an exhilarating race against time to freeze those ephemeral, beautiful scenes.
- Connecting with Others: Photography allows for connection without the need for small talk. Simply asking for permission to take someone's photo, capturing the moment, and sharing the result can forge a bond. It's a silent yet powerful way of interacting and understanding people.
- A Visual Diary: Uploading photos to platforms like Google Photos, Apple Photos, or Dropbox turns them into a visual journal. It's an effortless way to track and recall my activities throughout the year, offering a reflective view of my journey and growth.
- Enhanced Observation Skills: Regular photography hones my observation skills. I've become more attentive to details, colors, emotions, and the beauty in everyday life. This heightened awareness enriches my experiences and deepens my appreciation for the world around me.
In the end though, I just really don't want to forget.
The pictures (and videos) help me remember. Might as make the pictures as meaningful as I can.
